Tulip fields are like masterpieces at Keukenhof

Keukenhof tulip fields are the perfect place to enjoy the sight and smell of millions of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, orchids, irises and other bulb flowers. The world-famous Keukenhof tulip gardens are open only 8 weeks year – from end of March to mid May – due to a very simple reason: this is the blooming time! Offering an amazing kaleidoscope of scents and colors, it covers an area of 79 acres where 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually. Strolling around all these flowers, you will feel like in a fairy tale that tells about elegance, harmony and perfection. Keukenhof’s experience is really captivating. It will set off your emotions. The Keukenhof theme for 2016 will be “The Golden Age”, a period in Dutch history during the 17th century, in which Dutch trade, sciences and arts were among the most acclaimed in the world.

Keukenhof tulip gardens feature a variety of wonderful different gardens and garden styles, and also some large pavilions containing a great abundance of flowers and plants. It is an ideal setting for art, as every year around springtime, many artists are invited to showcase their works inside the park, creating a surprising creative mix.

Enjoy a relaxing Keukenhof day trip

A Keukenhof day trip is easy to arrange: the park is located near the town of Lisse. It can be comfortably reached from Amsterdam, The Hague, Delft and especially from Leiden, the hometown of Rembrandt. If you prefer to avoid traffic and enjoy the sight of flower fields, I suggest you to reach Keukenhof by bike. Starting from the center of Leiden, you can get to the park in an hour. I strongly recommend you to take a rest during your ride and take some memorable photos
